The SD Foodie take

Editorial commentary written from Roger’s original photograph and caption. Roger’s own words are the quoted photo note above.

The collage shows a red, chili-slicked bún bò Huế, an orange tomato-and-crab bún riêu topped with herbs, and fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and pickled daikon.

Roger was trying out the new Vietnamese place on El Cajon Boulevard, and ordered the two soups that test a kitchen beyond pho. The name is not in the post, so the neighborhood and the order carry the record.
