The call
A quiet Mission Valley coffee lounge Roger visited mainly to work or study; the coffee itself was just ok, but the calm atmosphere and couch seating made it a reasonable place to park for a while.

Drinks were just ok, not the best coffee in town, but the lounge was calm enough to concentrate and had plenty of parking in the retail lot outside; Roger noted some loiterers off the trolley nearby.
Stay in the neighborhood

Good for one thing in Roger’s book: a dog-friendly patio. The Black & Bleu burger was bland on a cold bun.

Roger rated this Mission Valley Tender Greens 4 stars, noting it's bigger but also much more crowded than the other Tender Greens locations he's been to.

The Mission Valley outpost of The Kebab Shop, a chain Roger has followed since its East Village original (still his favorite location); lamb doner, shawarma and kebab plates all deliver, though parking and lunch crowds are the tradeoff.
