“I'm talking about recession-approved cheap.”
Six dim sum dishes for $10.37, including two har gow, one siu mai, one lo mai gai and chicken feet, all fresh. Also recommends the $5 Hainan chicken rice. No cart service or teapot ritual here — order at the counter instead.
Stay in the neighborhood
Returning to this Linda Vista spot after a long absence and a change of ownership, Roger found his #1 pho bowl soggy with a too-thick broth and chewy, flavorless beef that tasted like reheated leftovers; he was also charged for tea despite complaining about the food, and told readers to stay away.
A Linda Vista restaurant listed under Chinese on Yelp that Roger visited for a quick bite while holiday shopping, rating it 2 stars after a long wait for a sashimi plate that arrived soggy and, in his words, the worst-tasting sashimi he's had in town.
A juice bar location Roger found overrated and not worth the price for average-tasting drinks, giving it 3 stars mostly for the cool design and outgoing staff rather than the smoothies themselves.
