The SD Foodie take

Editorial commentary written from Roger’s original photograph and caption. Roger’s own words are the quoted photo note above.

The split pot holds a red chili broth and a pale herbal broth, surrounded by rolled slices of lamb and beef and a tray of lotus root, kabocha, corn, taro and greens.

This April post says hotpot hits the spot each and every time — even though it was hot as hell that day. Roger posted Little Sheep twice in March, again with this April bowl and once more in late June, when he said hotpot still hits the spot in summer. Few places in the archive have four visits in four months.

Archive verdict

Roger’s 2013 hotpot habit — good enough to eat in any weather.
