The SD Foodie take

Editorial commentary written from Roger’s original photograph and caption. Roger’s own words are the quoted photo note above.

The collage shows rice noodles in a red broth served in a stone pot, a plate of stir-fried wild greens, golden fried potato-style pancakes, purple-and-white rice rolls and more noodle soups.

After two days of Cantonese and Teochew tables, the weekend closed with Yunnan cooking in Shenzhen — a different province’s food, and a sign that Roger’s China eating ranged beyond his own family’s cuisine.
