Indian
A Gaslamp Indian restaurant on 4th Avenue that Roger tried after passing it for a while, rating it 3 stars for decent but not the best Indian food, small portions, and extra charges for rice and naan, though the lassi was good and he said he'd give it another shot.

Had been noticing this place on 4th Avenue for a while before trying it with a friend. Service was okay and the restaurant was fairly empty at 4pm; plenty of seating for a group. Food wasn't the best Indian he's had but wasn't bad; portions were a bit small, and rice and naan cost extra. Said he'd give it another shot and might raise the rating next time.
Stay in the neighborhood

A low-key rooftop whiskey-cocktail bar above a Gaslamp hotel; Roger says the list is smaller than Whiskey House or Aero's but the Old Fashioned or Sazerac still hits, alongside tasty tater tots.

A family-owned Gaslamp taqueria Roger calls a great substitute for El Gordo, with more generous portions and carne asada, adobada, and birria all on point.

A Gaslamp French bakery Roger liked for its selection of sweets — macarons, pastries, and even a sour beer.
