Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

San DiegoMixed

San Diego's first Gyu-Kaku location, which Roger found so oversalted across the board -- beef, bibimbap, shrimp, vegetables -- that attentive service couldn't save the meal compared to the chain's SoCal locations he knew well.

    ★★☆☆☆
“Every dish that came out was extremely salty that it was hard to palate it without having a sip of beer or tea immediately after.”

San Diego's new Gyu-Kaku location: service was attentive and dishes came out in proper order, but the beef, bibimbap, shrimp and vegetables were all oversalted compared to the LA and OC locations Roger knew well; he planned to wait about six months before trying again.
